CENTRAL FLORIDA CHAPTER Together AS Friends Dear Friends, Well, here we are again approaching the holiday season. The time of year when fellowship with friends and family becomes even more special. The time of year when not just Christians but even non-believers take time to give special thanks to God for being such a wonderful provider. The time of year when most of the world stops and focuses on the little babe born in the manger. The time of year when we give thanks for the greatest gift ever given, the baby Jesus. It is a time of festive celebrations, a time of sharing, a time of giving, a time of caring. We in the Florida Adventist Singles Ministries care about you. We want this time of year to be a joyous time for all of our single friends. So, we have put together a calendar of events that we hope will entice each of you to come. Come and make new friends, come and become involved in this ministry, come and celebrate the love of Jesus. We look forward to sharing our holidays with you and pray that our heavenly Father will bless you during this holiday season and in the new year to come.

IS YOUR HUT BURNING? The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him and everyday he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements and to store his few possessions. But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stunned with grief and anger. "God, how could you do this to me?" he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. "How did you know I was here?" asked the weary man of his rescuers. "We saw your smoke signal," they replied. It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldnt lose heart because God is at work in our lives, even in the midst of pain and suffering. Remember, next time your little hut is burning to the groundit just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.
